I know it has come up before but I am going back to black from Pyrodex and not sure about what to do with my box.
I wonder what the Durham lads have been told by the FEO?
Last time I had an explosive certificate I had arguments cos they wanted a metal box and I didnt (obviously). Anyhoo, what is the current police fad in the north east , bolt or not?
ps how do I put a Durham flag on the emoticons (transformers??) as I see the Northumberland flag there. bigteeth

Down south in Cambridgeshire, I've been told when I asked "where do I put this wooden box?" to "shove it in a cupboard."

I was told by the explosive licensing officer last year when he did my application that it had to be chained to something.
He did advise that a bicycle padlock would be fine and to keep it locked.

The standards for the black powder box were developed for the Health & Safety authority, not the police. The box should not be chained down, so that, in the event of a fire, it can quicky be carried out. The police do not seem to understand this and will ask for it to be fixed.

I was told by my FEO to keep in a wooden box so made a little one as the ones you can buy are massive. I keep it in my workshop with the other powders at the bottom of the garden. it's not coming into the house, if I do have a fire I don't want that bloody thing in the house!
