"Tenbury Guns is closing down.
We are sorry to announce that we are closing the business as we are no longer able to operate under current conditions. Since September of last year we have been the subject of a vindictive assault by West Mercia police who have tried to destroy our business for reasons best known to themselves. Needless to say, the police have all the powers they need to do this even without proving any offence has been committed. In fact, despite no charges ever having been laid against any of us from September until today (or probably ever) they seized the vast majority of our inventory at that time and kept it. They also have tried to remove our RFD status and section 5 permission (which we still have by the way, thanks to the good sense of the Home Secretary). Just by seizing our inventory - they have prevented us from making a living as an RFD and so have put us out of business without proving a thing. So much for being innocent until proven guilty! I wonder how many other businesses could stand having all their inventory taken away for as long as we have? We will probably lose our home over this without ever being charged with anything.
I think the approach of the police has been summed up in the phrase used by the muppet who visited us at that time: "I can't believe you can have all this stuff. You shouldn't have it". In my opinion it is clear that they want to prevent all citizens from having weapons if they can. Since Blair's ludicrous response to the tragedy at Dunblane we have been doomed.
I have since been fighting to keep the business alive and trying to rebuild our inventory in order to continue service to our wonderful customers. but given that our inventory value was around £300,000 at the time of seizure this has proved to be an impossible task and although we have invested another £120,000 in the business, we have at last run out of cash.
Consequently, we are selling all our current inventory in order to pay off our creditors as we will not let anyone down as a matter of personal integrity. If you see anything on this website that you wish to make an offer for - please do so and we will consider it and pass the money on to our creditors.
Please be generous in your offer - we have tried to be honest and open in our business dealings and we will not go down owing money to anybody."
