I tried it on my Einhell hammer drill but found it a little unweldly and none of my masonary bits fitted. :)

Nah.. Found it in a skip.

Very nice find indeed. I know a couple of skip surfers who have made some really interesting finds including some superb low voltage halogen medical task lighting which now sit over some of my machines. I also have a very nice piece of cut marble which was the exact size I needed for an inspection area.

I'm always on the look out for shiny things... I must be related to a Crow.

My skip/"do you want that" hunting recently got around 8,000 clay pigeons.
Around 2-10 per box were broken. I donated them to my local club.

Also, as I like repairing stuff, so obtaining broken stuff and repairing it has been quite rewarding.
Things like PSU's, Frequency counters, computers, transceivers, model jet engines etc...

I think this ethos has been handed down from my father who was of-course brought up in the make do and mend era.
Something which appears to have skipped the current new generations.

its actively trained out of you, i work for a large multi national, and its replace rather than fix most of the time, even most of the parts we do change aren't then returned to be fixed either. bin for them

Hairy biker, we now live in a throw away society. It is often cheaper to buy something new than the cost to repair. Sad really. I bought some LED strip lighting a while back with the intention to make remote control dimming lights while out in my shed reloading. Many people said you could apparently get ready built systems and couldn't understand why I would enjoy soldering the connections myself...

the only problem with that is, while i would enjoy doing it. I doubt i would find the time to actually follow up on it, or i'd do it at the detriment of other things
