Ammo testing for my (new to me) Colt M4 .22
450 rounds downrange in 2 and a half hours. Good effort I thought.
Double tapping gongs. All good fun.
Best round count I've had in more than 2 decades.
250 rounds of CCI AR Tactical - no problems.
100 Federal HV - 2 light strikes - re-set the hammer and carry on
200 Remington Golden Bullet - 4 light strikes - as a bove
I believe the light strikes are caused by not going fully into battery before the hammer falls due to a tight fit in the chamber.
Does anyone know if CCI are sized slightly smaller than others?
Does anyone have experience of the Walther/Umarex/Colt .22 the are willing to share?
Definitely a good day on the range.
Rob

I had one and found that without keeping it really clean it would gum up around the bolt face and chamber and cause light strikes,

Hi I've had my walther colt m4 since march 2013 and have put through thousands of rounds and never had 1 problem at all with it . I've only used cci mini mag with it and only give it a clean now and then it's been very reliable and it's quite accurate .

Mine has run fine with every CCI round I've put through it (around 500 Mini mag and AR Tactical). It's the Remington and Federal I've tried that gave me a few problems.
I was just wondering what if anything is different about the CCI?
I'm wondering if some adjustment to the spring tension would make a significant difference?

There's some good videos on you tube on the Walter colt m4 about the spring tension adjustment and for keeping it clean .ive always stuck with cci mini mag and Ar tactical so never tried anything else so haven't had to adjust the spring

I couldn't find anything definitive regarding the bolt speed adjustment on you tube.
The factory video seemed to say either set flush for standard velocity or all the way in for HV.
Another post said fully in then back it out 9 turns. I guess I'll just have to play around with it and see what happens.
The manual just says in for higher velocity and out for lower. No clue about how much.
