ISSC Mk 22 Factory Upgrade Kit

Received from ISSC at the weekend the factory upgrade kit comprising of spring holder, set screw and spring that replaces the "L" bracket that holds the bolt carrier in place. Took minutes to fit and holds the bolt carrier in place under tension from the supplied spring. The bolt charging spring guide rod is left bolted to the stock carrier and everything is then locked in to place by the two set screws on the side of the main housing (only concern is the wear & tear in to the alloy threads, although strip down to the bolt carrier is easier).
Took to the range Sunday and no light strikes or FTF's after 50 rounds using a mix of Eley Force and RWS semi-auto, which for a Mk22 is a revelation as I usually had a least one or two light strikes in every ten. Time will tell as I did clean the bolt carrier whilst out of the rifle so let's see after a few hundred rounds. My understanding this was a fix developed by Anschutz for the MSR22 and first impressions was it seems to work even with rapid fire.
Incidentally I tested the Eley Force and RWS against CCI Minimag in my Lantac at 50m and all cycled well and first thoughts the Eley and RWS were more accurate (the barrel in the Lantac is Armalon so it is pretty accurate off of a bipod), but not significantly so probably not worth the extra money (especially the Eley Force as it is well expensive).
The factory kit was free from ISSC and just needed an e-mail for them to send it.

I'll have to have a look in my Anschutz to see if it reflects the ISSC upgrade kit! On the whole (if kept clean) the Anschutz doesn't have too many problems, however it misfeeds from the magazine more often than I would like. I really need to get another mag to see if it is that which is duff.

I also like the look of that, I made enquiries some time back about the Black Hawk version with the threaded barrel, wanting to know what the thread specs were. They are 1/2 x 20 which is a shame because I already have two moderators with 1/2 x 28 threading.
Light case strikes is a problem I had recently with my SIG522, it seems to have been solved by a new bolt. The impressions still look light on the cases but the failure rate is way down, like 1 in 2000 now.
Silverback, how many rounds has your rifle had through it, and are the case impressions light even if the cartridges discharge correctly?

Bought from new just under 5 years ago probably one of the first if not the first in the UK from CPG Designs so l reckon around a couple of thousand rounds through it and not too bad if bolt carrier kept clean but troublesome with anything other than Minimag.
Since fitting the new bits have run over 150 without issue except using the Anschutz stamped 10 round stubby mag, which feels like it is fully in but needs another push to be fully engaged otherwise a misfeed occurs.
The cases of those that initially fail to fire do look to have a substantial strike but obviously not enough to set the round off. When cycled again they usually go off.
The original Anschutz exploded diagram shows the L bracket that was in my ISSC version, but l think this has been changed in later models. The mod seems to work and l intend running it up to 500 rounds before cleaning it again to see if l get any issues.
In terms of shooting ability it is well balanced and even its tube in tube Walther barrel is fairly accurate off of a bipod at 50m's giving 1" groups using Eley Force and a Nikon 1-7 scope.

Bofor didn't get it quite right as far too often amongst the clicks and bangs were the clunks as it light striked. When it was cycling it shot well and fairly accurately. Everyone who had a go commented positively on its balance and how easy it sat in the shoulder.
Trigger pull is best described as dull but the Anschutz version as an adjustable trigger. Plenty of rail space and it does look the part. Better to pick up than a S&W MP 15-22 as the upper is alloy and gives more weight to make it feel more like a larger calibre rifle. I swapped out the two screws that hold the lower in place for HK pushpins to speed up taking the lower and upper apart.
Probably would not recommend for mini-rifle stick to the M&P, Sig, or 10-22 for that. Works well as a range fun gun and l did use for my LSR comps.
Bargain price now at most RFD's and option for going for an Anschutz version with proper single skin barrel and possibly with the upgrade fitted, which l am finding to be working well.

Glad you didn`t take offence as none was intended.
It does indeed look good, especially in green.
All guns play up, even the best, and I`m glad you like yours
