Cheap Airsoft stuff on rimfires

Just been looking on fleabay and there are loads of very cheap red dots, sights, grips, lasers etc marketed for the airsoft crowd.
They're often a small fraction of the price of "real" kit.
Just wondering if any of it would be worthwhile/usable for blinging up an M&P15-22? Or is it really just cheap and nasty and not worth the bother?
Anyone have any experience with it?

there are still levels within all the airsoft stuff...
most of the chinese stuff is real crap, it might handle the low recoil, but its a bit of a gamble as to if it will be able to be sighted in or not.
some of the airsoft manufacturers stuff is pretty good, most of W.E.'s line is pretty nice stuff, but their price tags put them at the lower end of branded stuff anyway. so i guess its whether you want it to look the part or not....
airsoft armoury in little chalfont might be worth a look, not too far from you, and they generally have a fair range of cheap tat red dots for the poor, and the nicer WE stuff.
grips etc, well i doubt for what you want you'd notice a difference between the quality of real magpul and fagpul.
lasers, generally with these, you get what you pay for, sometimes you pay pennies and get a gem, most of the time you pay pennies and overspend.....

like bradaz said, its a risk. Just buy a cheap Bushnell TRS 25, it might not be the best but it can handle centrefire recoil so rimfire is ok.

I know someone who put a cheap Chinese airsoft copy of a Russian PSO-1 scope they got off Ebay on a Dragunov and the lenses fell out after about 40 rounds of 54r!.........and no, it wasn't me.

I wouldn't mind a Type 7 Synthetic Uzi stock to bodge onto one of those Walther .22lr semi Uzi clones. Then lop six inches off the barrel... Wonder if any high quality airsoft company makes one?

there hasn't been a decent airsoft Uzi made in years, so you may strike out on that...

Well dont compare it with a real one, you will be dissappointed.
One of the major advantages of the Spectre DR is its clarity (particularly in low light) and the retaining of zero when you switch between 1 & 4x

I'd expect so, given that it's 1/10 the price of the real thing. It doesn't even have switchable zoom (it has a 1x mounted on top of a 4x) But it *may* be an option for plinking, and is still less than 1/3 the price of an Aimpoint.
I'll update the thread if I manage to take a look through one irl.

As already said, for .22's most airsoft furniture will be fine, but you do generally get what you pay for when it comes to optics
