I have got to be mental....

Here is a Marlin 336 Octagon in .30-30. A lovely straight stocked, Octagonal barreled version in really nice condition. This one has not done much at all. It was made in 1973, for one year only. After the Centenary models were made in 1970, Marlin did a run of barrels on the machinery that had been acquired for the 100th anniversary, before scrapping it. .30cal, .44 and .22 were run and rifles offered as a "special". Only 2414 of the 336 Octagon were made.

This has a straight walnut stock, with a 22 inch full taper barrel. A full length mag tube that takes 6 rounds and it weighs 7 pounds.

The .30-30 is a very versatile cartridge and really should see more use in the UK. With cast bullets and fast powders, this cartridge makes a wonderful gallery rifle range plinker and fully stoked up, is a 300 yard target cartridge or is deer legal and boar capable.

£750 ONO.
