I have started to copy slides that were taken by my dad. The usual stuff, kids, holidays, weddings. He was a keen plane spotter so I hoped something would turn up of interest. Today it did.
I knew somewhere there would be a picture of a Vulcan.
I zoomed in to get it's number, XM-645, then Googled it and found the following film. The picture was taken in 1971.
I've got a fabulous picture of a Vulcan flying on one Olympus engine (trialling for the Concorde) somewhere from when I was a cadet acting as a marshal at Farnborough air show.
I wish I could find it!
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.
All round good guy and VERY grumpy old man.

Please do, my dad would have been pleased.
He didn't have anything to do with computers and asked me "what use is the internet?" Wish he was around now to show him that one of his pictures could be seen at the click of a mouse.

D/rog..
Please try and find it! I would love to see it. This from a previous post of mine...
The Olympus (Concorde) engine was tested on the Vulcan. I recall being out walking the family dog, a highly strung Collie cross. We were on Wind Mill hill between Ludgershall and Tidworth when I spotted the Vulcan approaching. It got to almost directly overhead when they lit the Olympus engine. The air was filled with an almost electrical crackling noise followed by the roar of the Olympus. Truly thrilling moment. The bloody dog disappeared I found her two hours later quivering under my bed.
Well, you asked for it.......................................
Me and my big brother :)
I don't have a lot more yet as I have been busy doing other things. I hope to look through some more on Sunday as we are at Bisley tomorrow. I will look for planes particularly unless you want anything that shows general life from the 60's onwards. Like this.
