Lots of people seem to have tried making one of these. Safety seems to be the main issue.

Legally? I've heard people say they'd be legal but others say only .22 rimfire (LR and WMR) are allowed.

Don't worry, someone who knows what they're on about will be along shortly.

In the meantime, search for the Erma m1 carbine in .22WMR.

That's another fun looking punchy semi auto.

Only .22 calibre rimfires can be semi auto here.

PDW ? If you mean personal defence weapon - we are not allowed weapons for personal defence.

There was talk of .17HMR being permitted in semi-auto (by ACPO rep Andy Marsh) in the anticipation of legislative amendments following the Cumbrian shootings but as none came it was shelved. Could be back on the cards if the LAw Commission manages to get an Act off ground.

Not sure i'd get one though given the reports coming out of the US with reliability issues and the occasionaly explosion! Plus most indoor ranges aren't rated for the speed of the round :bad:
