Rifle for Mrs 357

I fear Mrs 357 is going to get right into this shooting business. Whilst we have covered off the 22 and LBR/BP side of things, she may want to shoot FB.
Now, the No5 is a bit of a brute and the 308 is MINE! So, the question is what would a suitable, light recoiling, easy to reload for (as I'll have to do it) calibre be in a set up that requires little fettling although a stock change might be possible!

Ah so good to hear Mrs 357 is embracing the darkness.
.223
.224
6.5x55
All easy to work with and can be reloaded and bought over the counter. Ammo is not that expensive to buy.
Recoil is ok.
Of course if you want to explore things then there are many variations in the .223 .224 area with necked down necks that are suitable.
Also 6mm and the list goes on :)

.223 Savage BVSS or similar. Low recoil, easy to load and accurate as well.
EDIT - ignore the Viking, she will have you building a wildcat before the evening is over LMAO

At the Newark show sanselm had just got the new Savage rifles in and had a few on display at the show, lovely they were.
Might be worth asking Stuart?
Savage gets my vote everytime. Lovely to shoot, low recoil. Now that I almost have got my head around the accu trigger I find it rather charming.

Interesting, I was considering a 223 for myself next year but couldn't decide which format. I was tempted to go for an AR15 upper and use it on the Spikes Tactical 22 I want. That what help me to justify the cost
Savage - good shout!
Keep em coming!

I have to say .222 is my preference.
With cast boolits to 2000 fps cheap as chips to reload.
With jacketed to nearly 3000fps good enough for Roe.
A VERY accurate round.
An old BSA shouldn't cost very much either.

Mine is the most accurate "out of the box" rifle I've ever owned.
