Daniel defense ris II rail help or advise needed

So I went to install the rail on my AR last night got everything sorted till the time came to tighten up the set screws every time i tighten them up the free float rail pulls its self off center and makes the barrel look like its angling up towards the twelve o'clock position on the rail. It's not centred at all and is very noticeable. I have tried loosening the screws off then tightening them as you would when tightining the nuts on a car tire buy doing opposite sides first but still had not luck I spent about an hour and a half trying to get the rail centered before I finally got frustrated and put it away.
Has anyone got any advice or ideas I'm at a loss.

Pics would help. Stupid question, is it possible that the rail is fine but the barrel is "wonky"?

No the rifle is brand new

Threaded barrel nut? (If the foreend attaches to it?)
As mentioned pictures will be the best way of getting help

I guess you'll need to be specific with regards to your AR. Which brand? Which calibre? Just because a rifle is new does not mean that it is perfect and without issues. Best not to rule anything out...
