Thanks Daryll
But I'd prefer a cheaper second hand one

In the last 2 years it was only one advert with 2nd hand cugir and price was 600+...Rusmilitary has now new delivery and probably the best price in UK-I can not find anything cheaper,anyway....good luck.

As Polemass said above second hand Romanian AKs don't appear very often, your best bet to get one is to buy a new one.If you buy a new one you can keep on top of cleaning etc as milsurp x39 has corrosive primers.....I looked at a Romanian AKMS that hadn't been cleaned properly after range visits and was suffering a bit.I prefer the Romanians to a Saiga as they are closer to a Soviet Era AKM (built at Cugir on ex-Soviet tooling) , the Saigas are actually more AK-74 based with their slightly smaller bolt carrier and bolt arrangement.

My two Romanians, both "Soviet-ised" ussrflag

Very nice, I have a slot for x39 - and I think I've settled on a Romanian, I'm just torn between fixed and underfolder........

I do like the underfolders but the original Romanian stock isn't brilliant so I retrofitted an original Soviet one to mine.It takes a bit of work but the end result is worth it as the stock sits straight rather than angled downwards like the original and you get a better cheekweld. The Romanian stock mechanism only locks on one side of the receiver whereas the Russian one locks on both sides and is more rigid.

Splendid ... They both look great with the soviet style wood :good:
Only a gaz port would make it nicer O:-)
