I'm sure this had been asked plenty of times, but using the search function yields no results.

I understand that when I reach 15(?) posts I can advertise or respond to for sale topics. Once I reach the magic number, does the for sale section just appear, or how does it work?

As it says after 15 meaningful posts you will have access.

It's in the forum rules but You need to have made 15 sensible posts to gain access, back in the early days we had people just join to flog off stuff never to be seen again.

What's meant by "meaningful posts"? Is there a minimum character requirement?

Admins discretion, if we think someone is building up a post count by adding posts that are not really contributory then they will be removed.

Replying to this post would not be considered contributory.

I've been on here for ages and haven't put anything in the for sale bit.
In fact, I've not purchased anything from it either.

Many people join up just to sell stuff and take advantage of the free selling facility - its only fair that they contribute something to the forum itself before they get that privilege (in my opinion that it!).

It's like any community. Effort in = Reward out.
