I have a Mossberg 590 8+1 pump on provisional order, anyone else got one and what they like ?
Yes I know about the Benelli`s and 870 and Winchester`s but I want one where the feed ramp stays up when loading so am restricted.

My benelli supernova lifter stays up when loading.
It also has a huge loading port.

The 590's a couple of my mates use have the nicest magazine springs i've ever fingered (giggety). The lack of feed ramp means you're restricted to loading singlely or with caddies, you can't (or rather will struggle) to load with duoloads or qualods, which is the fastest method available for a tube mag gun.
Have you got the newest version ordered which has true 24" barrel which i believe is also multi-choked, or the 20" barrel with the hood/shroud welded on/fixed cylinder choke?

...and I'm still no further forward in importing some kosher 24" rifle sighted 590 barrels...from a US dealer: cost under $100 ea.

Last time I tried either of the offishul importers for Mossberg, for a Remington 870 barrel, one had no idea they existed & the other quoted about £350 & 12-month+ waiting time. (They RRP @$129 in the US)

It is the true 24" barrel, choked ?, well one person said "choked" and another said "cylinder", so will have to wait and see. Teague will do choke reaming/proofing but that's extra cost I don`t want.
I had a Benelli Super Nova but didn`t like it,(must be the only person) so sold it. just didn`t feel right.

If its the true 24" version it should already be threaded for chokes. If its the shrouded version it cannot be reamed to use multi-chokes, believe me, the two lads i know that have them have tried EVERY avenue!

Every avenue?
What about the old skool pre choke tube design of external adjustable choke?
I've got a proprietary Savage one, others were mafe by Lyman/Cutts.
Unit swages/brazes onto open cylinder barrel & adds a few inches to length...plus allows either dial adjustment for different choke or you change the fitted choke using a small tool....
Either option would be an easy job for an RFD (Gunsmith type) to fit in place of the metal conduit that Saddlery & Gunroom added to make the 20" barrel UK legal.
