I was just wondering how you store and carry your cast bullets for .577 Enfield's?

I have seen the top hat cases used to hold 14/15 bullets but what other solutions are there?

I did find some plastic cases that hold about 50 bullets but what do you use?

I only cast 50-100 at a time as I like to use them "fresh", as I cannot guarantee the absolute purity of my soft lead I don't like to keep them long before firing in case they age harden.

I use plastic business card boxes for all my cast bullets, they don't hold a lot of .577s but then they don't get too heavy to handle either, they are easy to stack and last a long time.

The small capacity is also good as you can keep the boxes full and stop the bullets rattling around and giving skirt deformation, if I took 50 say to the range in a box and only shot half of them then I would need some packing to stop damage from them rattling around on the way home.

As I mainly shoot made Pritchett style cartridges I carry them in 12 bore loading trays that fits nicely inside a small MTM ammo box.

i use mtm cast bullet boxes. you get two for the price and i find are a perfect size for most things, the only exception being they are too large for the balls for my .31 cals unless i want over 500 in it

I keep ours in old Chinese takeaway containers, around here they are clear plastic with a snap lid and stackable so perfect for the shelf and lots of room for a label.

I find the MTMs too deep and narrow for the .577s the op is asking about, great for plinking short range bullets that the dings don't matter.

Take away boxes I use for brass but find them a bit femme for bullets as they don't manage the weight very well especially the heavier bullets like the .577s also I don't like storing boxes with sloping sides.

The 577s are quiet fragile being of soft lead, hollow based and heavy so care is needed with packaging them if you want to get the best out of them.

The thing about 577s is they need to stored for transport to the range and not stuck on shelf waiting to be stuffed into a case, unless it is for the Snider.

The MTM cases and the Chinese take away boxes are to deep for me but the Business card boxes look pretty good, so I will get some of them and give them a try.

I really wish I could get a supply of these though, but I don't shoot enough to do that
