Which Shotgun?

Following my recent trials and tribulations, the Guerini Maxum developed a problem with the barrel selector and is being repaired.

On Saturday I borrowed a used but fairly expensive Browning from the gun shop.

I have never liked Brownings and this one was no exception. No recoil pad, 3/4s choke top and fully open bottom barrel. No barrel ventilation and, Good Lord forbid, flush fitting chokes.

Had a little trouble with the barrel selector as well but that turned out to be my fault (the Guerini had a broken part~not my fault).

Best score recorded ever in 100 Sporting was 72% with my old Beretta 686 Sp fixed choke several years, and guns, ago.

Recorded a score of 76% with the disliked Browning. Must mean something............!?

:) :?

Easy to see the reason behind your better score. Did not like the gun so you have shot it with little thought to the targets, thinking you were going to have a "bad" day. Amazing how much our brain has control of our shooting prowess. I call it shooting with abandonment.

Others may have their own opinions of course. That's what makes our sport great fun, we all have our own ideas.

You're right...if it works for you...and it normally has a lot to do with good fit IMHO ... then use it.

I've noticed my Xtrema2 fits me better than my Onyx and I think I know what it is...drop at heel ... and I can adjust that to resemble that of the xtrema2 using the Gracoil adjs.

But I digress...only slightly...

:D

Thanks Angelfire. On reflection, that may well be what happened. My shooting mate and I call it instinctive.

When a broken clay emerges (a no bird) and there is a fairly large bit flying off track, as long as it is in the safe area we are straight on it and get it nearly every time.
