I have just taken delivery of a Huglu Coach 20" SbS. I have put together and dry fired using Snap Caps. The Hammer do not seem to engage the firing pins on either side ? Am I doing something wrong ? Being an idiot ? Or should I contact the seller (New Gun from RFD) or is their an adjustment you can do to the hammers ?

Help Please

Drop the hammers now push them forward by hand, do they move with resistance and spring back when released as if held off by a spring?

Trick of the light

Put a bit of tape or paper over the "primer" on the snap-cap.
See if it's marked on firing

Thanks will try tomorrow night. I can also see if a gently loose the screw on the side of the hammer and move forward and tighten and see if this helps ?

I would not attempt that sort of thing quite yet. See if they spring and leave a witness mark on some paper, they could well be rebounding type hammers.

No Richard, don't loosen off anything, as saddler said, it's a trick of the light. The hammers will be striking the pins, but then they stand-off as a safety mechanism, known as rebounding hammers. Take a couple of cartridges and open them up, dump the shot, wad, card and powder do you have an empty hull with a live primer. Point in a safe direction such as the garage floor and fire the primers. They'll go off with a crack, you'll then notice the hammers return to the rebound position and you will have confidence that the gun works as it should....

And the rule is, if talking about a new gun, "no photo, no gun." You'll only be believed when pictures are posted..... lol

BTW QWS... If you ever want to lower the hammers on loaded chambers be sure to know which trigger operates which hammer. :o

On the TOZ you cannot open the Gun with both hammers cocked, you have to lower the R/H hammer first.

Thanks all, I have not adjusted anything yet. I took the barrel off and fired the gun with my thumb loosely over the firing pins and yes they do work. I also had confirmation they are the re-bound type- So yessssss I am an idiot. But thanks to all who helped out.

As you can see the gap looked large to a novice with this type of gun - Thanks once again - You are never too old to learn

Pretty! But we need a pic of the whole gun to see the 20" "effect"! lol

And, is it pistol gripped?
