Steel Rabbit Silouette Air/22lr Rifle Target (6mm Thick - Heavy Gauge 22LR)

Plinking steel targets is great FUN lollol

These targets are plasma cut from 6mm thick A36 steel

and are ideal for air rifle or .22lr use (subsonic is recommended)

They are 19cm (7 1/2") wide by 26.5cm (10 1/2") tall

They are very heavy duty and can be left out in all weathers

I find the easiest way to locate them in the ground is to cut through the turf with a spade and insert them into the ground

although I guess you could hammer them into the ground but I think it would effect their finish

They can be repainted after use with standard acrylic matt auto paint and reused immediately

I recommend you use protective eyewear during use and shoot at them from no closer than 10 metres to avoid richochets

They come in a matt BLACK or matt WHITE painted finish

£20 each including postage to a UK address Payment would have to be via "Paypal Gift"

Ten metres for rimfire shooting on steel to avoid ricochet?

I'm speechless.

I'd love to shoot steel with .22 at 10 metres safely.

Don't shoot practical then safetyfirst! 5M distance on steels.

We shoot steels with cowboy loaded .357mag and heavier with some targets at under 10m, we are required to wear eye protection for all such competitions and the CoF is normally around 40 shots. It sounds iffy however I have never witnessed anything coming back as far as the firing point.

I'd shoot that all day at close range steel but not .22 rimfire, I've seen exactly what happens to rimfire when it hits carefully angled and Sprung steel, never mind shoved into the ground ad hoc.

I don't think rimfire should be shot at steel any closer than 25 and even then I'd have a canopy over the top of the targets to catch some of the ricochets.

I wish we had just one suitable Calibre in semi auto but we don't :(

Shotguns, 357, 44, 45 9mm lever release, all safe on steel I think.

Just my $.02 based on what I've seen with my own eyes. :)

what would be really nice is if you could take one of those to your local club and shoot at it. but I don't see any club allowing that.

likewise I know nothing about steel shooting to know what is safe, and what isn't, all i know is watching jerry micuelik videos, he seems to shoot FMJ at head height steels at about 10yrds perfectly safely.

Yes he does!!! JUST NOT .22 RIMFIRE!!!! sorry to shout but I'd rather shout a bit than have someone miss my point and lose a tooth.

You can shoot LOTS of calibres at very short distances on steel with the right safety precautions but .22 rimfire just isn't that safe. There's not enough energy to destroy the projectile, it just bounces off steel unless you get your angles and springs prefect, even then it's not foolproof.

What I'd like is fragmenting ammo for steel shooting, don't think anyone has designed any though.

....apart from Barnes.
What do you think the "Varmint Grenade" bullet is?
It's a direct offshoot of the projectile designed for steel plate shooting to meet US Mil requirements.

And it's a section 1 bullet

That said....

ONE WABBIT, TO GO, PLEASE. ...
Any plans for other shapes in the future?

:)

If anyone has a convincingly safe way to shoot close range steel with a .22 by the way, please do tell, I'd love to shoot close range steel with a .22!

I'm considering action air shooting as a way to enjoy the sport of 3 gun at the correct ranges.
