Fell in love with VZ61 on the Caledonian Arms stand at the shooting show half way between a LBP and a carbine. There is no way l am going to be allowed another .22 (but there again don't ask don't get).

The 9mm MARS is still project in development.

Also very impressed with the SIG MCX and MPX CO2 semi-auto rifles on the Highland Outdoors stand did not feel like CO2 guns at all and sat in the shoulder really well.

I bought one of the VZ61s and have been putting a few rounds through it. Seems great so far, has been cycling RWS subsonic with no issues and I tried 20 rounds of Fiocchi HV on the Regency Rifles range at the show. The whole gun is steel apart from the grip and the safety lever (oddly, although it's not exactly a high stress part). Just waiting for the fake can now...

didn't realise they were selling the 61's yet, so what sort of price bracket are they in? maybe I should have gone to the show afterall

They only had three at the show but another batch is on the way. It was £645 including two twenty round magazines and a case. They couldn't quite get hold of the fake cans and some hard cases they have had made for it by this weekend but I should hopefully get both in the next couple of weeks.

T
if you shoot target there's no reason why not? You've just got to give a reason like different shooting discipline.

I've got 4 .22's and I know people with a lot more than that!

I'll take some pics tomorrow night, can't get any decent lighting tonight.

I'm pleased with the rifle/carbine, it seems to be well built and is very authentic to the original machine pistol. Ejection is positive and cases tend to land on your head ;) The new polymer magazines seem to feed well and there is a proper bolt hold open that the mags engage. Stripping is like the original gun and you get good access to everything you need to. The rear sight is as per the original and you can flip from 75 to 150 metres but not sure how that will calibrate with the .22 trajectory yet. I'm going to trial it with a variety of ammo and shoot some groups when I can.

.22 rimfire rifle I'd imagine!

Good to hear the 9mm MARS is still on the cards, I might have actually saved enough to buy one by the time they come out! lol

.22 rifle, I assume because it has a shoulder stock.
