Anyone know the thread size used for Anschutz front sight base screws? These are part No. 5550-4. The best I can determine they are either M3.5 of No.6 ANF.
Thank you.

I seem to remember they are M3,5 because they were fun to source.

We have a winner
Screws proved easy in end. The screw size had been nagging at the back of my mind and decided to resolve itself by waking me up at 2.30 am. M3.5 is the size used in electrical fittings such as those that hold the faces of power points to their backing boxes. And a have a couple of those in the loft! An hour or so later my brain woke me up again to remind me I had a tap and die set in half mil. increments buried away work that I had forgotten about.
All I had to do was shorten the screws and reduce the head diameter and I was back in business.

I invested in a set of Volkel M3,5 recently, I was ordering some replacement M3,0 taps and like Volkel so I added them to the order. They are he sort of thing you will never need right up to the point when you have a rush job :)
