I'm thinking of getting a mag for a mates birthday present, & would like to go for a 25 round capacity, which is the most reliable?

I've always found the Butler Creek steel lips 25 round magazines to be the most reliable. BrownellsUK has them in.

I don't have a 10/22 myself but I *have* just bought a 96/22 which, allegedly, takes the 10/22 mags.
Having done a bit o'surfin', I quite like the look of the HCMAGS HC3R system. Has anybody tried these and, if so, how d'you get on?
Regards,
Mark.

The BX-25 is by far the best. I had a number of different brands come with the three 10-22's I own now. The only ones I have kept are the Ruger originals.

Got both a Steel Lips and a BX25.
Steel lips doesn't get used anymore due to (un)reliability issues; but it did go through many 1000s of rounds before begining to stick.
BX25 hasn't missed a beat in the 2 years I've had it and again it's had several shed loads of inexpensive ammo through it and never misfed.
BX25 or GSG 110 round drum would definately be my choice clapclap

Steel Lips mags.
Have 2 & been using them for many years. Give the steel lips an occasional brush with a bronze bristled suede brush. Never had a problem. Also readily filled from the 10/22 loading machine.
The original plastic lipped mags. are a different kettle of fish. The lips smoothed off & wore down quite quickly resulting in lots of feeding problems. In the bin long ago.
