If it was me I would look for an AW chambered in 7,62x51 and buy a new AI 6,5x47 barrel, Sporting Services should have the barrels in stock and they are quite sensibly priced.

Hi ovenpaa.that was my preferred option but I can't even see won in that caliber for sale.to be honest I don't even know if I'd be able to afford one as I can't really even get a rough price.it's the rifle I've always wanted in the caliber I use so fingers crossed I can find one some day

Why an AW?
An AE just as good.

I shoot an Accuracy International in 6,5x47 and it is a handy combination and I do agree the AE is every bit as good unless you need to sling it out of a Herc as you drop into the Arctic Circle for a 3 month deployment....

I would say if you want to put a 6,5X47 AW with good glass in the cupboard you need to budget on GBP6k plus

Hi glass is sorted but if yous suggest a ae is just is could it could be worth a look.as I said the aw is more of the rifle I always wanted coming into shooting, more sentimental

An AE is going to be in the order of GBP1750-2250 and the barrel another GBP685 from Sporting Services.
