Hello all!
No surprise that I'm new to the forum but I'm also new to shooting as hobby/sport.
I hail from Worcestershire and I'm looking for a club prepared to share their wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm with me.
I had a brief stint in the Infantry, joining at 16 in 1986, so have experience of the L85(SA80), L1A1 SLR, GPMG, SMG (Sten), Browning 9mm and a couple of goes on the 84mm Carl Gustav.
Recently, aged 40, I joined my local TA unit and involved myself with their Shooting Team, culminating in competitions shoots at Ash Ranges where I picked up a medal for the 9mm Browning Pistol discipline. Not bad as I've always considered myself a prone rifle shooter type! Naturally the rifle used was the L85A2 (so much better than the original SA80). After a few years I decide to leave, long story, but I've missed shooting and can't wait to get some range time again. Once I'm competent!
The idea I have in my head is to get hold of a 22lr and then move on to a .223, military rifle.
If you got this far, thanks for reading! I look forward to taking part in this excellent forum.
Steve.
