Black powder question.

Does black powder deteriorate over time. The stuff in the red cans. We have acquired a stash the cans look to be in good condition in fact they might be un opened.But I don't know how old it is.

So long as it has been kept dry then it should be fine.
I am currently using Curtis's and Harvey's powder from the 1960s

The powder if sealed up tight will be as good as new , a few years ago an american was killed while drilling into a civil war 1860's projectile charged with black powder.
