Impossible for me to pick a favourite. I am much taken with the Rolls Royce's Spitfire PS853 . I hope the pilot has a son, boy would he be proud of his dad. I have just got to buy the book.

Agreed David - superb.

As a teenager I used to watch MH434 when she was based at Booker (High Wycombe), and even got to help give her a wash down and push in/out of the hanger on occasion. Mk.1a AR213 was also based there in the mid/late-70s.

I ordered mine back in January - I'm sure they'll have it again pretty quickly.

I love the Spitfire, no question the finest fighter of the war. The Yanks can have their Mustang - it went nowhere until they equipped it with a Merlin engine.

Awesome photos.- - good post jenks :good: :good: :good:

There used to be a Spitfire that flew in Perth (Scotland)..It was usually on the day the Open market was held....lovely engine noise, everyone stopped to look up at it....Keep em flying at all costs!

Oh for a big lottery win..it would be the business to fly in one.
