S&W military and police .38 special

I was recently given this revolver by a relative. Considering the finish wear I didn't expect much in accuracy from it but when it went to the range the other day it out shot my Colt Officer's model heavy barrel. The bore is perfect and the lockup is tight. The grips are pretty skinny and make holding onto it a bit of a challenge.
It was made in 1954 so it and I are the about the same age!

Had the earlier Victory Model for a while. Even came with the correct GI holster!

OP......very nice revolvers you have there
It removes history, my dad did refinish a stock on a lee, but it was an unused stock, the original still sits untouched elsewhere. It's got a sniper cheek piece on and a mount made that required no gunsmithing and holds the pecar scope on lovely.

The history of how many times someone has dropped it or scratched the Finnish.

Scratched the Finnish?......the Russians did that a bit but it didn't end well
