I have a Pedersoli 1859 sharps carbine due in early next week and I am really looking forward to getting it shooting.
I am very fond of these paper cartridge guns and used to shoot an original Sharps carbine which shot very well but its pitted barrel would foul up so I sold it on to a collector who wasn't interested in shooting the thing. I did this secure in the knowledge that a repro would come my way as it was the shooting I was after.
Well the years have passed and a good second hand example never came my way so I've bought new.
I am waiting for the ringtail moulds to come should be here in the next couple weeks, I used to have Lyman ringtail mould but let that go as well, with hindsight, such folly.
Anyway I have made the mandrels but can't cut the paper as need the bullet and the rifle to get the length.
