Openning hours.......driving me up the wall.....

Trying to find a part for my rifle so been phoning around a few places....
3 out of the first 3 gunshops are closed on Saturdays
My wife is self-employed in small shop with just herself and one part-time girl, so I really do understand the need for time-off, balancing family life etc. but that's why she has Sunday and Monday off (Sunday for family, Mondays for herself).
Don't gunshop owners realise Saturdays would probably be their busiest trading days if they could drag themselves away from the Mon-Fri 9 to 5 schedule?
Rant over, many thanks

At least their recorded message say 8 to 5 Mon-Fri and not just 9 to 5.....
I give up.....anyone got a spare Remington 552 / 572 firing pin going spare??

I'd be on-line buying elsewhere myself, not an "off the shelf" item by any means & chances are the folk that order it in will have to source from outside the UK themselves!

Absolutly agree Sadler....the numbers I'm calling I've got from online searching.
I'll take a few more blood pressure pills, have a calm down

and wait until Monday.

Finished at 18:30 today and 'phone calls for the day have totalled 2h5m so far, however I did get all of the work needed done. We will probably be doing the same tomorrow and I honestly envy people who can take a weekend off.

Ovenpaa - completely appreciate business owners like yourself. My wife got home at 7 after a very tough 10 hours solid of dog grooming, she took a couple of painkillers and fell asleep; that unfortunately is the downside to self-employment which is (sometimes) balanced out by the upsides i.e. no boss, some flexability in hours, hopefully a decent income etc.
While there are many gun (and otherwise) shop owners who run their businesses accepting the downsides i.e. staying open on Saturdays, late night opening where needed, accepting customer complaints when you KNOW they're taking the mick, there are a significant number (especially the smaller businesses I find) who think the customer has to work around the shop owners requirements....and this is where the rant really is over

My pet hates on this theme are websites that say "In stock", when it ain't, and dealers who are "too busy to handle emails", and who don't quote prices on their sites, dealers who say "ring for quote" and are too busy to answer their phones, dealers who say "Sorry about that, I'll get it in the post today" and then don't, and finally, people who say "support the UK guntrade" when you've had a total bellyfull of the above and gone to Europe for your stuff and saved a bit of cash to boot.

Bought my first shot gun from them over 25 years ago, glad to see they are still going and were excellent to deal with all those years ago.
