Home Insurance and cover for Firearms

Hi everyone,

Still waiting on my FAC/SGC but the above is something I've still to look into with my current provider - AVIVA.

Do most insurance companies offer the cover and simply charge more or do a lot not cover it in their T&Cs? Just wondering what kind of additional premiums I'm likely to expect.

Thanks,
Steven

I declared mine to my brokers and have never had a problem.

Join BASC,NRS,NSRA or similar and they offer insurance for loss or damage. It may well be a condition on your ticket that you have public liability insurance in place as well so joining a society gets you both things.

I asked at the time of buying the insurance and they said they weren't bothered what was in the house as long as it didn't exceed the limit (IIIRC £2500 for a single item). As I have one rifle that does I added that as an extra, no biggie. Lloyds insurance.

We are with NFU and the firearms are covered by them under the policy, no issues with them
