Gun case / slip

Got the gun sorted (Tikka T3) and it's being stored in a cabinet at work.

Any advice as to best gun slip / case on a budget ??

Obviously I understand it's got to accommodate rifle + scope, an accessory pouch would be handy for mod and bits. It also needs to fit in quite a shallow cabinet so big hard cases are right out. I also appreciate you get what you pay for but I'm looking for some kind of compromise here folks.

TIA,

Si

Si, your gun slip/case should only be used for transportation. It is not a good idea to store guns in anything that will absorb moisture. You probably have a sizeable investment in your rifle so buy a decent quality slip/case. Store the gun in a cabinet with some sort of moisture inhibitor.

I bought a hard gun case with 'egg crate' style foam inside for £25. It takes my rifle/scope and ammunition etc. Just need to drop the mag out. Suits my needs perfectly.

But as mentioned, only for transportation, I don't keep it in there.

As he said do not store guns in a slip or case. Just store the gun in the cabinet. Use the slip/case to transport it. Gun slips are cheap. I use gun cases I also use some slips made for me by the wife they look like the type of thing you carry fishing rods in. They are made out of a heavy brown cloth with a draw string. She made six for about £30. My neighbours think I'm into carp fishing if only they new. lol

I use Bore Store gun socks when they're in the cabinet. They protect the rifles from dings and mean I can stack them up against each other without any real consideration, just ram them in. They come in all shapes and sizes.

In terms of rifle slips, I like Jack Pyke slips at £38
