Interesting rifle suggestions wanted

#1 Post by Mdwysc »

I'm looking for my next .22 rifle. Unfortunately I like the unusual or interesting types so looking for something different. Not after expensive or cheep specifically just something that works and accurate enough for off hand comps. I've just sold my Erma M1 which was great (upgraded to 30 cal one).

Back to the point, I'm after suggestions from semi-autos to bolts to pumps to martini action to lever action. Let your imagination run wild, what do you think?

Love my little Remington 572 pump action.
Not extremely rare but you don't see that many around....

Ruger 96/22 lever-action rifle that (allegedly) will take 10/22 magazines.

I have one of these but have not, yet, confirmed that they'll take a stick mag. They are "supposed" to use the JX-1 mag which is very similar to the rotary BX-1 of the 10/22.

Regards,

Mark.

I am a bit of a fan of older rimfire rifles and my current favourite for accuracy is a 1948 Savage Model 5 with a 15 shot tube magazine under the barrel. The bolt throw is short even for a rimfire, the trigger is crisp and it is superbly accurate. A rifle to be enjoyed.

If you are looking for something slightly quirky, Towers of Rochdale have a Beretta .22 dual action rifle for sale at £330.

They can be used either as a normal bolt action or semi auto.

A dealer buddy had one and it was very well made and fun to shoot.
