I spotted this and it made me wonder if anyone over here is shooting a 22cal cap and ball BP revolver?

York Guns have been advertising them for years now, so quite possibly.

Seen a few come up for sale now and again. The Portsmouth Gun Centre had the last one I saw. There are several NAA cap and ball models available. Usually come in a "kit" with a loading press and .22short bullets as the projectiles, all in a little suede pouch.

Where as in the US they are a very well made, cheap non-firearm. Here in the U.K. They are a very well made, very expensive weapon of mass destruction!

A bit s*** hitting the target over 10 to 15 yards, but a great little curio. But eye wateringly expensive over here...

I've had one through my hands, like a lot of these small bp pistols the novelty soon wears off with the owners not just with the limitations of accurate shooting but also fiddly to keep clean. After his world famous 454 Dick Casul seemed to be having a bit of a joke. As Simon says way too expensive for what they are over here and with such a small interest market hard to shift, I suspect that most UK ones are lurking unused in their owners cabinets all but forgotten about 'till renewal time.

Within the jurisdiction of the US, the cap and ball NAA mini revolvers fit a very specific niche, namely as as self defence firearm available in all locations. Washington DC and even New York City have a "muzzle loading" waiver in regards to firearms possession and B/P guns don't have to go through a dealer as they are not classed as firearms...

Very shrewd.

Hi does have a track record for these smaller calibre, I seem to recall that not long after the success of his 454 revolvers he introduced a 22 RF variant along with the usual magnums.
