Sorry folks if this has already been done new to the site. Just received my fac and looking to purchase a cz rifle in .22 or 17hmr. Is it worth spending the extra to buy a 455 I won't be changing barrels so should I just stick with a 452. Will be using it for vermin rabbits etc Thanks

If finances tight, look at the older Brno models secondhand. Still the great quality which will last a lifetime. Upgrade as and when finances allow or fashion dictates.
Look at this for 75 quid!!!

There's nothing to choose accuracy wise between the 452 and the 455. It would probably come down to which one you find first at the right price in the right condition. The 452 isn't being made any more, so you'll be lucky to find a new one, but they are pretty much bomb proof so the chances are that used ones will be very serviceable.
Don't overlook the 453, either. I have a 453 and a 455, and they're both great rifles.

452, you can always upgrade the trigger spring if needed for very little money and you have a stunningly accurate rifle regardless.

I have a 452 in .17hmr and am very pleased with it. It is a nicely made rifle.
I do find I am using the .22LR more than the .17HMR. There is a big difference in the cost of rounds for the two calibres.

There is a noise consideration as well. These days I would go for the .22LR every time based on what I use them for which is a mix of overland/vermin and target.

My BRNO Model 2 was bought on a whim, yet it served me well for about 30 years.
In the time I owned it I glass-bedded it, fit a trigger kit, had the barrel shortened & threaded, added modern swivel studs, etc.
After 3 decades it still shot tiny groups with Eley Subsonic ammo; and it accounted for a good number of rabbits & a couple of foxes.
ONLY sold it to get an even older BRNO - a Model 1
I'd rate the older BRNO version as much better built than the modern CZ versions - and the 455 is a solution in search of a problem.
Back in BRNO days, the communist Czech state had to build great quality guns to get business (Western capital) from export sales, or stuff would be left unsold.
