With the above twist, is the 155 Scenar a good place to start for up to 600yds?

Absolutely, in fact my view is it would be near perfect. Workable alternatives are the 155SMK and 133.5 Berger as well as others.

168 and 175 SMK could work well too.

My original PSS barrel 26" 1/12 used to love 155 and 175 SMK's, IIRC 46gns of Varget for both.

I have a kilo of N140 so that will have to be my starting powder until I run out. I'll try 100 Scenars and see how I get on. Going to start off with Lapua brass. Varget gets some good reviews on Accurate Shooter!

Before I start messing about with seating depth, should I run load development for charge only?

1 in 12" will also work with 185 Berger BT's if you are feeling flush, they are brilliant bullets, and as Laurie proved in an excellent article some time ago they are the best alternative to people with shooter barrels as their superior BC's mean you can keep up with the long barrelled guys shooting 155's at >3000 fps.

With load dev I always get my charge first then mess with seating depth after, just the way I do it but it works for me.
