Looking for the above in good condition for informal target shooting.
Would like something that can be used with aperture sights or scope.
Am in North London though go to Bisley quite often.

Bit of a oxymoron really. A couple that spring to mind are the BSA Century, semi target rifle, dating from 1950's. They shoot well as a sporter but never really competitive against the single shot Martini's.

The Anschutz or Izhmash biathlon rifles would serve well but rare and expensive, often using the Fortner type action.

If you are looking for something for use at local club level as a bit of fun then something like a CZ 453 with a set trigger could easily be fitted with aperture sights.

Not necessarily. The most common rifle in the UK is a bolt action repeater .22 judging by the number on sale. It depends how much fiddling and sourcing you want to do and whether you want modern or classic.

BRNO match sights are available to fit the bulk of the CZs and BRNOs, although you might have to go on a bit of a hunt to find them. I understand Lyman do a front sight to fit and any target rear sight should be good for the dovetail. If you have a large budget there are Anschutz products to suit also, although their later repeaters have no sights fitted as they are expected to be scoped up - you could go down the route of fitting a bloop tube / extension tube if the barrel diameter is appropriate.
