We Have just returned from a weekend in beautiful Devon. Staying in Totnes. I had never visited the town before, have to say it was love at first sight. It was lovely to see all the shops in the High Street occupied and not just with the ubiquitous west country tourist traps, There were two traditional Family Butchers and likewise Green grocers etc. We lodged at the 'Great Grubb' guest house and would have no hesitation in recommending it for a short break.

The reason for the visit was the wedding of my lovely niece Katie. The ceremony was of the Humanist variety and to my surprise I enjoyed it (even bought a tear to my eye) The venue was on a hill in a field over looking the River Dart. It was a day none of us will forget.

Ovenpaa...

Yes it was a scorcher of a day. Especially for the chaps, who of course were wearing jackets and ties :o  The brides sister, my lovely niece Laura played and sang during the ceremony, she is becoming quite an accomplished singer song writer. have a look at the attached link.. She had only just started playing the Guitar and this is the very first song that she penned, The old guy on the drums is my Brother in law and this was the first time he had accompanied Laura and her then boy friend Rob. Listen for the rather un- complementary comment at the end. :( What a plonker I can be at times. And Sim if you see this please don't use it as a footnote to your posts... :D  ;)
