Anyone know the torque setting for the birdcage on these rifles.
I've been trying to get it off but failing. I havent been trying very hard to be honest as I dont want to bollox anything up.
How should the rifle be held to get the cage off? I have visions of something else turning rather than the cage and really screwing the job up
Is a set of action blocks needed?

They're on pretty tight the A2 is timed on a crush washer. You really need to clamp the barrel with something soft, I normally just use soft jaw pump pliers on the barrel and an adjustable spanner on the bird cage. Magazine block in a vice can also work.

Either upper receiver clamp or barrel clamp.
Wouldn't be wanting to apply pressure to the mag well or mar the finish on the barrel with something else. It will be tight though as has been said so that it is timed correctly.

Ahh, yes. Sometimes the obvious solution gets overlooked.
