I saw this on the SAKO forum and thought I'd share

Item 127 looks like a SAKO Moisin Nagant - nice
Getting it over here could be difficult though!

An M39 as well! Very sought after but much like hen's teeth. I was looking for an M39 for a long time but everytime one came up for sale it was snapped up very quickly.
I found an M24 earlier this year and am very happy with it.

There's a few in 8.2x53r and one in 6.5x53r as well, I wonder if the 6.5 is a Mosin-derived Biathlon rifle?.

I did see those wildcats in the listing but wasn't familiar with them; I was hoping someone with more knowledge could talk about them more.

Found this on a Finnish website......
http://www.waffenlager.net/ammo/82x53r.html
And after a quick search it appears that Russian Vostok BN-65 high power Biathlon rifles were chambered in 6.5x54r.

I theorie, they could post it to your FAD that would then pass it onto you. That is the easy bit , but the transport costs are quite high as well and have to be computed into your auktion bid ...
Shame cos the M39 is a lovely sought after rifle . Mine came from Germany and still was well below what was on offer at the time in the UK .

If you had an RFD and went to a European auction could you buy it and bring in back with you on your RFD ?

Dellboy, the easy answer is no even if you have an OIL (Open Import Licence) The reason being the rifle is being permanently exported and requires paperwork from the host country to support this action. This usually takes at least a couple of weeks in my experience (Europe)

I actually bought a couple of weeks ago a pistol, that I intend to keep in CR at a continental auction. The pistol transited from the private seller to his local Firearms Dealer who sent it to my local one who registred it . I paid €30 for the "in country" transport and an additional £ 100 fee for doing the export paper work & registre the pistol. It couldnt have been more simple.
Do you know any reason why a British RFD could not do the same ?
