What scope would you recommend for mini rifle competition on an M&P 15/22.

I am planning on starting competition soon and want to make sure I have got the right scope, what’s your views? What do most guys run with? I was looking at the Vortex....

The vortex 1-4 is great for 25m mini rifle, offset red dot set to 3m zero also handy!

as I have just found out, something with a less than 100yd parralex

Is that the crossfire 2 your talking about?

I was looking at the vortex spitfire..... or is 3x magnification not suitable?

The spitfire I’ve never used. I have a 1-4 viper that’s lovely. I tend to use it on 4x most of the time and know where to aim in terms of the reticle when I’m close up. An AR zeroed at 25 shoots about 2” low (height of scope above bore) at 5 yards!

Most 1-4 scopes will be fine, personal preference is for a red dot out to 50 yards.

I have the spitfire on my m&p, for anything past 10m it is perfect, for anything inside that, it gets blurry, ok if they are big targets

This scope and mount is what I use sometimes, but I'm still of the opinion that a red dot is faster than a low mag scope.

I agree with BamBam, I have found a red dot to be quicker for me than a low mag scope when shooting up to 50m.

I now have a Bushnell TRS-25 sat on top and I get along with it.

As above, don't use a scope for mini-rifle as it will slow you down at close range (unless you're willing to drop £1k+ on something with true 1x and a large field of view).

I have only ever used magnification in 2 competitions (because they had 60-100m targets on one stage of the comp) and it wasn't the right choice (for me anyway).
