Any one got one or used one , I know they are Turkish and cheap compared to a Vepr 12 but are they good enough and reliable enough for psg.
Thanks Chas

The gun trials were done at our club and compared to the UTAS the F12 was very reliable.
I would get one, but I'm not a fan of gas guns.

Was the UTAS unreliable then?
I'm currently looking at this type of shotgun so any info is gratefully received

A few of the UTAS broke while shooting matches, parts required to get them right, I believe reliability has improved, but people are still reporting failures after multiple improvements.
The F12 did have a few teething problems early on, but one the whole more reliable of the 2 types.

That is a tube mag fed shotgun, F12 and UTAS are box mag fed.

UTAS are pos. You may as well get a Bora Barak BR99 and do all the mods to make it reliable. It will probably still owe you less.
Or be sensible and buy a Benelli M2. However there are some great Winchester SX bargains atm. Good gun. One in my club for £400ish

Apples and oranges. You can go into Open division with a tube gun but unless you're VERY competent you need to be a good loser.
I know of one UTAS that performs well but the owner is a tinkerer extreme, has an engineering mind and access to some serious machinery. I was hoping the F12 was going to be different to other Turkish box mag guns but it would appear it has the same short comings. I was going to sell my BR99 this winter and get one for the next championship season but I don't think I would be gaining anything at the moment.
However, the main difference with the F12 is that the UK importer has the ear of Typhoon Defense (F12 makers for those who don't know) and they are actively getting improvements put through and brought into production guns. I will be looking again at them next year but until they get to a better level i'll be sticking with my trusty BR99.

A mate has a Typhoon. He hasn’t used it a lot, yet, but so far it’s been spot on reliable with 28gm #6s up to 9 pellet home loaded buck and Lee 1oz slugs.
