Hello From Cambridge

#1 Post by Robbo »

Hi I'm Darren,

I took up shooting "properly" about 6 months ago with the Jaguar Rifle Club in Coventry, where I did a stint of remote working (I'm a self employed IT contractor). At Jaguar I shot mainly rimfire in their indoor range but also attended a number of Bisley shoots where I got the bug for fullbore.

I also did a stint of remote working in Cluj, Romania where I was lucky enough to shoot on the Police Tactical range, under one the Range Masters there - all 9mm pistols, Steyr M9, Beretta PX4 and 92F.

Now relocated back to Cambridge where I'm based and looking for a more local club, but in the meantime continuing to join them on their Bisley shoots with Jaguar for the foreseeable future.

Hi Darren, firstly welcome to the forum.

Depending where you are exactly Oundle Rifle and Pistol club is a very good club with outdoor 25/50/100 meter ranges and 25mtes indoor.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Also thanks for the recommendation of the Oundle club - I'm based in Burwell just north east of Cambridge so I'm looking at Isle Target Sports Club next week (because they seem to do a lot of different things including practical Shotgun which I'm also keen on trying).

Runners up after that will probably be Barton and/or Cambridge Gun Club.
