Our holiday is coming up (Sep) and it reminded me to remind you all to be careful when travelling with your firearms.
Always a good thing to keep your FAC and your rifles separate.
Lock your car, attach the rifles to something secure in the car.
When you get to your destination, remove the firearms from the car.

Well, you all know what I mean, better safe than sorry!

If we have to leave rifles unattended in the car the bolts always come with us.

In a Pick-up that is quite acceptable.

Talking of head rests reminds me, I was trying to get out of Milton Scrubs tonight by my preferred two wheel mode when forward filtering progress was stopped by a badly place Volvo (Nothing new then) It took me second or two to realise something was odd, the driver had no head! Close examination as I filtered past showed what I presume was an Asian lass with a green thing over her head, the impressive part was the top of her head was below the top of the seat/bottom of the head rest.

Shorter than a short thing...........

just another note, check your hotel etc etc allows firearms,
my other hobby is reenactment and for years always slept at the travel**dge, the gun was with me all day at the event, and only left secured in the vehicle after an event for something to eat then it was taken back to room so in esence was only ever parted for an hour ish.
however last year when i stayed at one in kent the manager said no guns allowed in the building, i tried to explain no ammo, license holder etc and that once i was back in the room the gun would be with me until we left for the event in the morning.
i did have 3 sleepless nights about it being bolted in the car though.
i did complain to their head office that for years there was no problem when i stayed with them, but they wouldnt really give an answer apart from saying they had no where or cabinets to safely keep the rifle.
so if you are b and b or other please check with the owner
just to be on the safe side
i think if it was a 2 week holiday i would have aged ,

I would have thought not telling anyone at the hotel would be more secure, especially as the staff have access to all the rooms :/

dare i say i usually chose "my moment " when to go in unnoticed,

but was caught on the last time i went, even though disguised in a fishing bag.

guess some you win some you loose.

also no danger of maids comming in as i was always out with the firearm long before they come round. and as i said it wasnt brought back until late evening after a meal and we never left the room again until very early morning
