Benelli M2 Cartridge Recommendations

#1 Post by pbrazendale »

Hi guys,

But if advice I’m picking up a Benelli M2 tomorrow, it will be the SGC version 2+1 however have a plan in the future to go PSG so will get an extension.

At present I will be using it for clays, it says it will take 3inch magnum loads, what would guys recommend? I’m hopefully taking her out Sunday so want something good :-)

Cheers

You are going to be limited by what your clay ground allows. Most limit load to 28 grams max and some do not allow plastic wads, so check first. Unless you are shooting to a very high standard, then I would buy some reasonable cheap (relatively) 28 gram cartridges in 2 3/4" 7.5 shot.

Hi, my M2 will happily run Ooomphy 28grm 7.5's . a lot of PSG shooters use Lyevale express power blue, 28grm 7.5's. i use SAGA eurotrap, and it also likes RIO target 28grm 7.5's, hull superfast 27gm 7.5.
If the gun is NEW, its recommended to "run it in" using at least a slab (250) 30/32 gram 6's first, then it should digest powerful 28grm 7.5 no problem.
have fun.

forgot to say the choke to use for clays is the one with 3 notches on (1/2) , good all round choke. if the clays are close, IE under 20 metres away or mainly incoming you could give yourself more advantage using one with 4 notches on (1/4).
