Holts have sealed bid auctions fairly often. Watch out for buyers premium and VAT though plus carriage if you can't collect them yourself.

do you need a FAC for these sessions or is it just proof of id and payment details like in property auctions?

Yes it is open house in a hall in West London where you can browse and inspect . As far I know everybody can go. Drop them an email to be on their distribution list and kept informed when the next one will be .

worth checking local auction houses, sporting auctions, we have 2 or 3 a year here at local farmer/antiques etc auction, sometimes its load of tat, other times theres some bits of interest
best to find a friendly RFD thats going to be there, that helps in case you see something you want and dont have slot :)
amazing how many people want to know me on auction day LOL
