Just acquired a Marlin 44 mag...box of cast bullets with it....measured...most are .428 few are .429. Some are .427...From what I read the Marlin rifle grooves are .431....looking for some TC 44 cast in .432. Shellhouse has bullets in .432 but they are RNFP....my club expert tells me the TC are more accurate. Any advice? Roger?

My Marlin (Ballard rifling) shoots my .430" sized boolits quite nicely.

Ballard...but looks very shallow..rifle only 3 years old...a Remlin but very well made... slickest action and trigger I have ever found on a Marlin..my friend who has been shooting his Marlin for years, tried .430 and found very little improvement over the .429.....I suppose that barrel groove size will vary. Slugging ,might be in order. Easier just to load and shoot...if it works, it works.

I think you just answered your own question.

Don't make a problem before there is one.
