This video supports my dislike for the kind of holster that was involved, although he clearly does not blame any thing but himself. Also makes me thankful that I don't have to worry about safety levers on my pistol,

And he only swore once . That was lucky the bullet must have just travelled under the skin .

When metal hits flesh -flesh loses!
Good reminder to us all
1.took several things at same time
* holster that deactivated safety
* missing holster release
* finger curling as grip tightened trying to pull gun
Hats off to him he used the event to remind us we all can make mistakes
2. I did notice his reaction to been shot - it INSTANTLY changed his focus
Training one the range does not equate to street reaction but it can show an interesting aspect of violent confrontations.
Unless the goblin (as per Jeff Cooper) is physchotic or enraged or drunk they tend to react to a shot like that I.e. Oops they can bite I best remove myself the kitten is a tiger!!!
Robust defence can quickly turn certain attack types.
I had a friend in an IDPA match do something similar - again several errors accumulating

A friend of mine...No3 in Sri Lankan police... showed me his scar on his leg after he drew incorrectly in a confrontaion on the job.
He was on a stake out and half asleep.
Hard way to learn a lesson.
