The impossible dream?

#1 Post by nunhead »

PLEASE don't laugh.
I am storing a Colt M1911/15 W-prefix pistol for someone. He used to shoot Practical Pistol, so replaced the .455WebleyAuto barrel with a .45acp and after Dunblane kept the pistol as a s.7(3) Heritage Pistol.
Now he doesn't shoot it, so wants to hold it as a s.7(1) so it MUST have the correct barrel.

Anyone got one please?

I suppose you have contacted the HBSA members, the odd one or two may have what you are dreaming to find, a very good friend had the Colt M1911 .455 Webley Auto prior to the pistol ban but all he has retained is a spare Eley .455 magazine.
Sorry l can’t help any further, but if l do hear of a spare barrel l will definitely contact you.

Try asking around the companies that do deacs. If one of them is deactivating a .455 1911 then they might agree to a barrel swap as the chamber won't matter since it will be cut and welded anyway.
