Official name of the piece is '11.01', but nicknamed 'Tommy' by everyone around, signifying one minute after the armistice. Based on the sea front at Seaham he would stand around 12 foot tall if erect. Done by a talented local artist.

Looks like the alloy steel that's designed to oxidise on the surface to give an attractive patina...........occasionally seen in "Grand Designs"..............
