Long shot (pardon the pun), but has anybody got a target air pistol for sale?
Fancy having a go at 10m pistol.
No CO2 as it's hard to fill cylinders.
SSP or PCP if poss.
Please PM me with details

Unfortunately not got one for sale - but don't be put off by a good quality CO2 pistol - they're certainly not hard to fill. Although I have a Morini 162ei PCP with electronic trigger I also shoot my co2 pistols just as well (or badly) I have a co2 Brno 69 5 shot semi-auto match pistol which takes the standard 12g co2 cartridges and a Walther CP-2 Match pistol that is bulk filled from a cheap fire extinguisher - just cost a penny or two to fill for over 100 shots.

These pistols were cutting edge/Olympic medal pistols in there day and can be found for just a couple of hundred pounds.

Hi 1066, have you had problems with the seals or any of the internals?

No problems with any of the pistols, I also have a cheap Lov 21 co2 pistol - I have a Chinese co2 air rifle that I've replaced the seals but not a problem and not expensive. Almost forgot - I also have a Hammerli Single co2 target pistol dating from the 1960's that still shoots well.

The only thing I would say - if you are getting on well with the pistol shooting (and it takes a LOT of practice) you may notice a drop in velocity a little when the temperature drops - however, most indoor ranges are fairly reasonable and shouldn't cause too much of a problem. The flyer in the 7 ring will be you, not the pistol.

You can buy a CO2 extinguisher from ebay for around £30 delivered, this will last thousands of shots - when it's empty you can get a refill - my local chap charges £5.

Looking now, sussed the filling from an extinguisher now so don't feel as wary.

There's a very nice Walther CP2 match pistol on Guntrader at the moment for £250, looks in perfect condition. If, after a good crack, you decide 10m pistol is not for you, you could sell it for the same price. These pistols were designed for one job only.. To put pellets in the 10 ring every time.

Co2 guns are not difficult to recharge, I was a bit wary at first as it was my first pre charged gun. One thing I would say though is it is easier to do it if you have a bottle with a tube internally that goes from the valve at the top down inside to the bottom. You are loading the liquid CO2 in to the gun not the gas. Without the tube you have to hold the bottle upside down. Not the end of the world tbh but I thought I would point it out. I think the bottled gas world call the tube in the bottle a siphon but I am not sure. The bottles are coloured black for CO2 with a white stripe from top to bottom for the tube FYI. You fill you guns bottle then weigh it on kitchen scales to get a consistent weight of CO2 liquid, it should come with a bleed off valve so you can reduce to correct weight.
When dealing with charging it is wise to have gloves on and skin covered. Any pressurised gas cools very very rapidly when released which can cause freeze burns. The container can reduce in temperature very rapidly as well if a lot of gas is released. I would not store the main bottle in your living area if possible as a leak could occur.
I rented mine from BOC for about £80 a year I think but that was a while ago. Buying one is cheaper longer term.

You need to be in a gun club and have a FAC here for one of them, so they would not be a big seller.

We can't.
Stupid discrepancies in the law.
I need an Air Weapons Certificate in Scotland, but not a problem if you have an FAC.
