I have actually held it in my sticky mitts* and it is a nice example.

* it was wiped afterwards!, they said they didn't want Mosin-istus contaminating it!!!

Having acquired more information. I have now decided to center my acquisition attention on obtaining a true 1911 model.

the G11 is the better shooter of the range, the 1889 uses a much lower pressure cartridge and needs to be hand loaded for.

I have both. An extremely nice all matching 1889 with serial numbered bayonet.
I also have a good K11 carbine made in 1919.
Both available for sale.

I have had a couple, they are always a pleasure to shoot and I have one in the Armoury right now that I need to take out more often.
